WHAT IS Phoslo/Calcium acetate TABLETS?

CALCIUM ACETATE/Phoslo is a calcium/Phoslo salt. It works to bind phosphate in the digestive tract. This medicine is used to treat high levels of phosphate in patients with chronic renal failure. This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

WHERE SHOULD I KEEP Phoslo/Calcium acetate?

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.

Keep out of the reach of children.

HOW SHOULD I USE Phoslo/Calcium acetate?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Take with meals. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.

Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

WHAT IF I MISS A DOSE?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

You may need to be on a special diet while taking this medicine. Ask your doctor. Also, ask how many glasses of fluid you need to drink a day.

Do not take this medicine within 2 hours of any other medication taken by mouth.
